Life After Death: A Study Session in Memory of Robert Katz z”l
What wisdom does Judaism offer about life after death? How do we understand the daily blessing that praises God for giving life to the dead (mechayei hamayteem)? Why does our prayer book mistranslate that phrase as “Master of life and death?” What has shaped our own attitudes about life after death/reincarnation/eternal life? How much, if at all, was death and the possibility of life after death discussed in our own families? How, if at all, did that shape our own views? These are some of the questions we hope to consider at a study session on Jewish Teachings about Life after Death. We will meet on Zoom on Sunday afternoon, October 17, at 4:00 pm.
